Embrace the change ....

Every year, October 18th marks a significant date on the calendar for women and health enthusiasts alike—World Menopause Day. This day is dedicated to raising awareness and encouraging open conversations about menopause, a natural phase every woman will experience. Often shrouded in mystery and sometimes even shame, menopause deserves to be understood, celebrated, and embraced as a pivotal moment in a woman's life. It is so worth exploring the multifaceted nature of menopause, its impact on health, and how letting go of old paradigms opens the door to a new, wiser phase of life. Let's celebrate the empowerment that comes with this transition!

Menopause is a shared experience that unites women from diverse backgrounds. Building connections and fostering community can provide a sense of belonging and empowerment during this transitional phase. Joining support groups, both online and in-person, offers opportunities to share experiences, exchange advice, and find solace in the company of others who understand.

World Menopause Day serves as a reminder of the significance of recognizing and celebrating this vital phase in a woman's life. Menopause is not merely a physical transformation but a holistic experience that encompasses health, emotions, and personal growth. By understanding menopause, prioritising health, and fostering connections, women can gracefully transition into a new and wiser chapter. This day encourages women to embrace change, honour their bodies, and seek knowledge and support.

On Wednesday we celebrated together at NOVA with like minded women by joining a Menopause Yoga class with Kara. It was relaxing, emotional and wonderful experience, with lovely readings and poems, one of which I would like to quote here:

She let go by Safire Rose :

"She let go.

She let go. Without a thought or a word, she let go.

She let go of the fear.

She let go of the judgments.

She let go of the confluence of opinions swarming around her head.

She let go of the committee of indecision within her.

She let go of all the ‘right’ reasons.

Wholly and completely, without hesitation or worry, she just let go.

She didn’t ask anyone for advice.

She didn’t read a book on how to let go.

She didn’t search the scriptures.

She just let go.

She let go of all of the memories that held her back.

She let go of all of the anxiety that kept her from moving forward.

She let go of the planning and all of the calculations about how to do it just right.

She didn’t promise to let go.

She didn’t journal about it.

She didn’t write the projected date in her Day-Timer.

She made no public announcement and put no ad in the paper.

She didn’t check the weather report or read her daily horoscope.

She just let go.

She didn’t analyze whether she should let go.

She didn’t call her friends to discuss the matter.

She didn’t do a five-step Spiritual Mind Treatment.

She didn’t call the prayer line.

She didn’t utter one word.

She just let go.

No one was around when it happened.

There was no applause or congratulations.

No one thanked her or praised her.

No one noticed a thing.

Like a leaf falling from a tree, she just let go.

There was no effort.

There was no struggle.

It wasn’t good and it wasn’t bad.

It was what it was, and it is just that.

In the space of letting go, she let it all be.

A small smile came over her face.

A light breeze blew through her.

And the sun and the moon shone forevermore…"

...and then we had a massive glass of wine !!! :-)))- no we didn't but a lovely herbal tea instead ! :-)

Thank you Kara for brining this poem last night and for the wonderful readings !! What a trully special and magical class that was !!
